However I can't find anything relevant about Java compatibility. Since the only document in the configuration file user profile is Javasettings_MacOSX_PowerPC.xml I am wondering if the Java I have is a later version than OOo 2.4 can cope with - Java was updated for latest together with all the other software updates automatically carried out for the 10.3.9 system earlier today. I have also tried various preferences in X11 with no visible effect. If I say yes to installing fonts already in system, doesn't complete startup if I say no to installing fonts (& fonts folder says no_user_fondu).
OOo still opens (for about 5 seconds) then closes itself without opening the document required, or leaving a new document window if none. I have tried restarting system, renaming user profile to get it to reset and then restarting OOo.
